Calming waves are rolling in. The sky is a beautiful shade of velvet from the summer. Soothing warm breezes flow by. This place is perfect, thinks Terrence.
Terrence takes his first steps atop the sandy beach. The sand feels comfortably warm between his toes. He lies down on his sandy bed with a content sigh.
Before he becomes comfortable, an odd gust of wind flows by. Terrence looks up, seeing a woman in ethereal white robes, glowing with a purpley blue aura surrounding her. Terrence lies back down.
In a relaxing voice, she asks, “Are you not impressed?”
“Hardly,” replies Terrence, “I’ve been told that you would be here to greet me.”
The woman gives a small giggle. “Most people at least stare for a short while.”
“It’s just how I act around these parts. What’s your name again?”
“I’m Net, and I’ll be here to check around every once in awhile, Terrence.”
“Awesome.”
Net surveys the surrounding area. She asks, “What gave you the idea to start your work on a bay?”
“Eh. I got the thought from a really cool movie I watched a short while back. I can do whatever I want here right?”
“Indeed.”
Terrence grabs a small pebble and throws it out into the water.
“Well, just call for me if you have any questions. I’ll always be around. Shouldn’t you get to work?”
“I’ll start in a bit. I’m just gonna keep looking out for a little longer.”
Net smiles. “In that case, I’ll leave you to it. Adieu.” Another gust of wind comes, and Net vanishes from the bay.
Terrence looks over to where Net was standing, and he looks back out into the water. This shall be my haven, he thinks. This shall be my paradise.
